Vestal Little League

ABOUT_
Carl Stotz, a resident of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, founded Little League Baseball in 1939.  Twelve years later, Vestal Little League was established in 1951 and has been an essential part of the community ever since.

Vestal Little League is a non-profit organization whose mission is to "promote, develop, supervise and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball."

Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists children in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being.  By espousing the virtues of Character, Courage and Loyalty, the Vestal Little League baseball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.

Vestal Little League is a charter member of Little League International.  We are open to boys and girls ages 5 to 12 years of age.  Our Spring season runs from March to June.  We consist of three divisions:  AAA, Minors and Majors.

AAA, comprised of 5-6 year olds, is an instructional league to develop early skills, learn the basics of the game and have fun.  Although it is not T-ball, our coaches instruct to bat utilizing a tee and pitching machine.  The goal of the AAA division is to prepare our ball players for the Minors division. We have a lot of fun in our AAA program!

Minors, comprised of 7, 8 and 9 year olds, is competitive and builds on the skills learned in AAA.  The use of a pitching machine continues as well as implementing 'live' pitching.  We continue to teach the fundamentals of the game; how to pitch, how to hit, how to throw and how to run.  There is a strong focus on strategy and teamwork.  The goal of the Minors division is to prepare our ball players for the Majors division.

Majors, comprised of 10-12 year olds, is very competitive and builds on the skills learned in Minors.  Focus is on preparation, discipline and continued teamwork to help create a strong and confident baseball player.  The goal of the Majors division is to make certain our ball players have progressed in skill and ultimately exemplify the three virtues of Little League Baseball:  Character, Courage and Loyalty.

Vestal Little League participates in Williamsport, PA and local All-Star ('summer ball') tournaments.  12A, 11A and 10A All-Star teams, comprised of regular season players, compete each year in local, regional and state level tournaments with the goal to play in Williamsport, PA, at the Little League World Series.

A 'Fall Ball' modified instructional program is held during September and October.  The focus is on skill development in a relaxed and fun environment to keep our players engaged and encouraged to return the following Spring.

Vestal Little League is 100% volunteer driven.  We are a board comprised of 21 members strong whose primary purpose is to the safety and well-being of our children who play the game of baseball.
